Francesco Teresi was born in Rome, Italy and have been making jewelry for thirty years. After finishing Artistic Lyceum where he specialized in Industrial Design and Jewelry, he began his eight-year apprenticeship in Professor Mario Turrini's goldsmith studio in Rome. His teaching career has included appointments at schools and academies in Italy, including the TARI Foundation of Naples. His interest in all aspects of art in many media, as well as hies view of jewelry/making in nontraditional ways, led him to collaborate with artists from different areas including the late sculptor Ugo Sartoris, the theater director Marcello Sambati and the audiovisual artist Marco Ariano, all of Rome. His work has been shown in galleries and exhibitions in Turin, Rome, Antwerp, Bahrein, Moscow and New York. He have won awards in both Italy and the United States of America, including the Swarovsky Award from Saul Bell Design Competitions, and several the American Vision Award Jewelry Design Competitions. He is a member of the American Craft Council and the Society of North American Goldsmiths. He lives currently on Sanibel Island, Florida, where he has set up his studio.
